Dankie vir jou email addy, ek gee ook nie gewoonlik myne sommer so uit nie, te veel weirdo's daarbuite, maar ek weet darem jy issie een van hulle nie *touch wood* whahaha ....ek sal vir jou 'n mail stuur sodra ek 'n kans kry !!!! Haai - Ek gaan nou terug na 1964 - 1969 . Onthou iemand my of my famielie nog. Sonnekus was ons van, ons het so kuins oorkant die Nuwe Republiek laërskool in Kerkstraat gebly. My pa was bekend as Vryheid se sterkman. ( Het meubels vervoer. ) As iemand onthou, laat weet asseblief. Ek soek nog na 'n plek met die naam Mountain Gwebe net buite Vryheid. Indien iemand inligting het oor so 'n plek, laat weet I disagreeeblief. Dankie

Hi all, my name is Judi King (Judi Parsons). I am looking for anyone that I used to know in Vryheid especially from the youth that was run by me late father Stanley Edward Parons. It was under the Assemblies of God and it was mostly done from our house in 72 Commissioner Street in about the early 1980's. I left in 1984 but often think of wonderful times spent there. Please. if anyone remembers me send a shout-out. It's been too long..................

This is a replay to Rocky. Mount (Mt) Ngwebi (might be of a little on the spelling) is situated near Nyati. Driving towards Hlobane, Vaalbank and Coronation from Vryheid you will rach a crossing that, to the left will take you to Hlobane, dead ahead to Vaalbank, Coronation and towards Louwsburg and to the right Mt Ngwebi and Enyati. I don't know the distance but you will pass a small mountain pass with dangerous curves, so be careful. You will cross the railway on a semi mountain rise where (if I am not mistaken) the road splits 3 ways. Ahead to Eyati, just of to the left to a dirt road and to the left to Mt Ngwebi. We used to live there on the mine property in 1975 to 1980. If you were there in the late '70's you will be shocked to see the state of the property now unless something good has happened since 1995 as it was the last time I went there just to see how it looked.

World War 2 Memories, I was in Vryheid in 1944,on 28 days leave from Durban , where my ship HMS Renown was having repairs carried out, I was a 19 year old sailor in the Royal Navy, and was told I could go anywhere within 300 miles of Durban, Most went to Jo;burg, I tasted the terrific Hospitality of the people of Vryheid,and did hope to return one day, I stayed with an English family named Baxter the father was a train driver for the SAR,and he had two loveley daughters,I had christmas dinner 1944 with a family round a large table and 24 Afikaaners ,and although I could only speak English I was made most welcome ( the beer was strong) as we were not allowed alcohol on the ship so it hit me hard),when the ship left Durban , being sung out by the lady in white, tears were running down my face, I did not want to leave. I went to many plces during the war but Vryheid was the best, a merry christmas to all in Vryheid, Regards Victor John Humphries

Ek is so bly dat hierdie tuiste geskep is, ek hoop om van my ou vriende en kennisse op hierdie wyse weer raak te loop. Enige iemand wat tussen 1971 en 1973 in Lucas Meyer was kan van hulle laat hoor. Ek sal vreeslik graag van Martin A. en Clyde F. wou hoor.
